This week has pretty much gone to the dogs, with thearapy
visits, Board meetings, Graduation, and ID photos. So dogs are the subject for my homework this week.

ID photo before

ID photo cropped with eyes and teeth whitened and glasses flash blurred.

I took this last night (7/29/04) at the "Graduation Picnic" for our
newest pet therapy teams. This is the original version. Tripod, the Siberian Husky in the stroller, is one of
our veterans. She is missing her two back legs, and she does her pet therapy work with prosthetic hind legs;
however, the stroller is more comfortable for outdoors or extended periods of time. She works with children with disabilities,
and as you may imagine, is quite effective. Mark (in motorized chair) is one of our trainers for the pet therapy program
and also is a service dog trainer (the puppy, Star, working with him in the photo, is in training). The photo needs
straightening, and Mark's face is in shadow.

I straightened the photo and used both the fake alpha channel and
contrast masking on it. The green channel worked pretty well on Mark's face, but you can't tell much about the effect
of the contrast masking in this photo.

Above is a 12-sided kaleidoscope design made from the graduation
photo using a precision rotation technique. Below are three versions using different sharpening techniques.
